Safe gigs for women is an initiative established by regular gig goers with the aim of creating a safer environment for women at gigs.
Melinda Kelly; part of the Safe Gigs for Women leadership team, and passionate about issues that affect women’s enjoyment of music; will be hosting the series of talks for the weekend.

Annabel Allum
Annabel is a musician, artist, actor and model. She released her debut EP, ‘Absent’, in August 2015. Her music was used in the 2016 feature film Spaceship in which she also acted, illustrating that the artistic value of Annabel Allum is not limited to just one medium. Her original look and self-styling has also gained Annabel a lot of attention on social media and she has an ever growing
Instagram following.
Lee Fellows
Lee is the Head of Student Services at ACM across all sites. ACM is the country’s leading provider of contemporary music education. Student Services is made up of essential elements key to a positive student experience including Accommodation Services, Student Support and Wellbeing, Student Counselling, Education Guidance, Receptions and the Safeguarding of staff and students. ACM has recently reviewed and enhanced all its key student services and offers a unique and holistic approach to support students and their physical and mental wellbeing.
Caroline Holton
RASASC is a caring, non-judgmental charitable organisation. Their aim is to support all male and female survivors of rape and sexual abuse, aged 13 and above in Surrey and the surrounding areas.
Hoda Ali
Hoda is a trustee for 28toomany, a values based charity working to end female genital mutilation (FGM). Our primary focus is on research and enabling local initiatives to end FGM in the 28 African countries where it is practised and across the diaspora. We also network and advocate for the global eradication of FGM, working closely with other charities and organisations in the violence against women sector. Hoda is also part of the North West London FGM advisory board and Ealing FGM partnership group member.

Peter Hegarty
Peter Hegarty taught at the City University of New York and Yale University prior to joining Surrey in 2002. He has since been a Visiting Professor at the University of Michigan (2006) and Trinity College Dublin (2015-2016). Peter is a social psychologist and a historian of psychology and his research focuses particularly on sexuality and gender.
Rebecca Hitchen
Rape Crisis South London believes too many women have had to be silent for too long about the violence perpetrated against them. We understand that it can be difficult to speak up, hard to find the words or to believe that anyone will listen. We will listen. We will believe. We will stand up alongside you. You do not have to do this alone.
Kelly Bennaton
Kelly is Senior Marketing & PR Coordinator at national concert promoter DHP Family. She is also an advocate for women’s rights and volunteers for Nottingham Sexual Violence Services and domestic abuse charity Equation.
Celine Thomas
Celine stood as a candidate for the Women’s Equality Party in the General Election 2017 in Tunbridge Wells. She was one of just seven candidates standing for the Party in their first historic outing at a general election. Her professional life has been as a lawyer for central government, but Celine is now focused on her role as an advocate for gender equality and its importance for politics. Celine also works to support people experiencing domestic abuse and violence and is the Chairperson of the Tunbridge Wells branch of the Women’s Equality Party.
