IDLES are a five piece punk band hailing from Bristol. The raucous energy in their music and live performance means that their set at #ATS17 on Friday 8th September will be one to remember for years. The band have recently released their debut album BRUTALISM, which has received critical acclaim from the likes of Upset, BBC6 Music, Clash, Stereoboard and DIY…

You guys recently released your debut album BRUTALISM, what has the reception for that been like?
More positive and fruitful than we could have ever imagined

How does it feel to finally have it out?
Natural.

You played a headline show at The Boileroom in Guildford in March, how was that?
Guildford is like our third home as our manager and producer live there. It’s been a very quiet response before the last show, however, the last show was a stunner. The Boileroom show was an amazing experience.

What’s your best festival story?
At Benicassim about 6 years ago, a huge factory went up in flames and then a sandstorm came that blackened the air so bad it turned to night THEN the power cut at the festival. It felt like the apocalypse. We loved it, there were tents in the trees and all sorts. Nobody died.

What are you looking forward to most about playing Always The Sun Festival 2017?
Playing to new audiences is always something we look forward to, we like the challenge.
