Jigsaw Trust is a local charity supporting children and adults with Autism. They will be at the Crafty Peacock with a stand where you can paint a mug and help raise money for Autism!

What work does the Jigsaw Trust do to help children with Autism?
Jigsaw Trust supports children and adults with autism through its provisions, Jigsaw School and JigsawPlus. The charity fundraises for additional equipment, facilities and resources to support its growth and development. Founded on the principle of excellence through continual learning, the Trust aspires to provide the highest quality of education and lifelong learning possible.

What will the event at Always the Sun involve?
We will be doing a super fun mug painting activity as well as selling our unique ARTworks, made by our adult clients with autism! You will be able to paint your mug and take it home the same day. There will also be an opportunity to speak to us about Jigsaw and learn more about autism.

What will fundraising do to help the school?
Jigsaw aims to provide each pupil and client with every opportunity to reach their full potential. As such, there is always a need for additional equipment, facilities and resources. Funds raised are put towards purchasing a wide range of items, from art materials to minibuses, from iPads to Sensory Rooms.

How can more done to support and raise the profile of schools that cater for children with disabilities?
As well as raising funds, Jigsaw promotes understanding and knowledge of autism to the wider community. This is done by engaging with local schools, businesses, community groups and individuals to educate and inform them about autism. The Trust also organises and takes part in numerous activities during the month of April (Autism Awareness Month) each year and has organised music concerts, floodlit Guildford Cathedral blue and encouraged local schools, colleges and businesses to take part in Dress up Blue events. The Trust would encourage people to engage with their local special needs school to learn more about the work they do.
